Scholarship Fund Closet
For our upcoming retreat, Wild Women Hawai’i will dedicate a small corner of the main house space to benefit our Scholarship Fund which will help a kamaʻāina sister afford our summer retreat next year. We invite all retreat sisters to donate a maximum of 3 pieces of second-hand clothing to benefit our Scholarship Fund. Handmade, vintage, dress-up, or unique clothing items are especially welcome. The Closet will remain open during the retreat.
Participation is optional. You are not required to contribute or participate in any way.
Wild Women Hawai'i does not profit from the proceeds of the Scholarship Fund Closet. GoFundMe will deduct third-party fees, none of which goes to us.
What to do:
-
BRING UP TO 3 SECOND-HAND ITEMS: Choose a maximum of 3 clean, unique clothing items that you no longer reach for. Be sure they are in excellent condition and do not have stains, rips, holes, or extensive wear. In the past, we have had items donated that sisters could wear to our activities such as silk scarves for dancing, items for dressing up for fun (tutus, kimono robes, dresses, pajamas, etc), or staying warm (sweaters, jackets).
-
DONATION-BASED: Items will be donation-based unless you have a specific price in mind for your item. Retreat sisters can pay what they think each item is worth unless it is labeled with a price. If your item is worth more then clearly label your items with a reasonable price along with your name so we can return it to you if it doesn't sell.
-
HANGER: Please include a hanger to hang your item on the rack when you arrive.
-
That's it! Once you donate your items, please do not barter, swap, network, sell them yourself, or give them away during the retreat. You also won't collect the money. If an item sells, the purchaser will pay for it directly to our GoFundMe Scholarship Fund or by cash if WiFi isn't working.
-
Be sure to collect any unsold items before the end of the retreat.
All sales will go into our Scholarship Fund payable directly to https://gofund.me/1ee91abd minus third-party service fees that GoFundMe requires.
